The National Committee on U.S.-China Relations selected Timothy Webster, Case Western Reserve Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the East Asian Legal Studies program, in the Fourth Cohort of its Public Intellectuals Program (PIP).

Every three years, the committee selects 20 scholars of China to be PIP Fellows. Fellows meet with policymakers and China specialists in Washington, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Beijing.

They expand their knowledge of China outside of their own discipline, and gain access to leaders in the fields of business, non-profit, media and other fields. Former PIP fellows include law professors at Columbia, UCLA, Fordham and Hastings, as well as social scientists at Yale, MIT, Cornell, Michigan, Berkeley and UVA.
