International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
MEREDITH BOWEN
When my internship began, the Defense for Nchamihigo was continuing to put forth there case. I attended court for three weeks providing in court legal support to the Trial Chamber. In addition, I assisted in the preparation of two oral decisions delivered by the Chamber in that case.
When the Defense case adjourned, I moved onto an assignment for Judge Byron. I provided legal support in this same case, dealing with particular aspects of the management of the evidence. I took the Defense witness testimony and condensed it into grids used during deliberations to connect the evidence to the specific aspects of the indictment.
In addition, I was assigned to updating the Nchamihigo files on the Court's computer system. I entered over a dozen decisions into the database, and updated the decisions lists and files.
