CSO Resources. In addition to the resources and services mentioned in the
CSO Services section and the job postings available through
Symplicity, the CSO Resource Room contains a variety of additional resources that may be helpful to alumni seeking new opportunities. We encourage alumni to call or come in and speak to an attorney-counselor to best identify the resources that will be most beneficial to you. A small sampling of the resources follows:
- Small and Medium firms lists for a variety of legal markets including Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Washington, DC, New York City, and others.
- Vault Guides to the Top 100 Law Firms as well as the regional Top Firm guides.
- The Right Moves: Job Search and Career Development Strategies for Lawyers, by Valerie A. Fontaine
- Maximize Your Lawyer Potential: Professionalism and Business Etiquette for Law Students and Lawyers, by Amee R. McKim
- The Complete Guide to Contract Lawyering: What Every Lawyer and Law Firm Needs to Know about Temporary Legal Services, by Deborah Arron and Deborah Guyol
- Staying at Home, Staying in the Law: A Guide to Remaining Active in the Legal Profession While Pursuing Your Dreams, by Julie Tower-Pierce
External Resources. There are also a large variety of resources available to alumni outside of the CSO. These include local and state bar association websites and events, networking events, professional associations, and more. Utilize internet searches and read local business and trade magazines to learn of other resources that may be beneficial to you in your job search.
