Q&A
Favorite aspect of law school
In addition to the interesting and challenging nature of the material and education, I was especially happy to start applying what I was learning through summer and school employment starting the summer after my first year. Also, I made some wonderful friends in law school.
Favorite class in law school
Criminal Procedure because my professor, who was also the dean of our law school at the time, was a former sheriff. I appreciated the law enforcement perspective he brought to the class. I also loved Constitutional Law and all of the advanced con law classes I took.
Advice for law students
You can maintain balance in your life while also being fully committed to law school and learning. You’ll have less time to do the things you enjoy outside of school, but you can fit them in. Please get good sleep; you’re young, but you still need it. Finally, ask for help if you need it; there are so many support services and supportive people here.

The law affects every area of life, so I loved learning about what affects and drives our society and beyond. Law school made me more aware of our world and the politics governing our society. In a nutshell, it made me smarter. I’m also very grateful for the friends I made in law school.

Torts – how could you not like learning about torts?
Advice for law students
Live your life – workout, socialize, read non-legal books, watch movies – just take breaks from the grind of law school. Yes, you need to prioritize and focus on school, but you need balance. It’s important to take a step back and relax.
