Student Organizations
We are proud of the extensive student organizations our law school offers. This not only enhances your law school experience, but is a wonderful way to remain even more engaged and active during your time here.
Our Office of Student Services takes very seriously its commitment to support our students and student organizations. We work closely with our student organizations and student leaders to give them the assistance that they need to thrive and succeed. We also provide advice and assistance to students who wish to start a new student organization. Following are the links to more information about student organizations recognized during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Alternative Dispute Resolution Society
CWRU ADR Society seeks to advance the study and practice of dispute resolution systems, other than adversarial litigation, within existing and emerging international and domestic frameworks. The Society will focus its work in three main areas:
1. Community Outreach: by inviting ADR professional bodies to host their meetings within the law school area, encouraging law students to attend state and national conference, and collaborating with relevant CWRU centers and institutes to organize ADR events, the society will provide a platform to connect law students with ADR practitioners in the Greater Cleveland, Northeast Ohio communities as well as national and international ADR professional associations.
2. Professional Development: the Society will help law students develop and hone hands-on life learning skills necessary for resolving disputes outside the courtroom by emphasizing and encouraging student participation in national and international ADR moot and mock competitions.
3. Research and Scholarship: the Society will encourage its members to take at least two courses from CWRU qualifying ADR tract prior to graduation and to identify with the mission and goals of the Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Conflict and Dispute Resolution (CISCDR). The Society will maintain and share its database of ADR writing competitions and encourage members to submit notes and articles for publication in ADR journals and comment on emerging ADR issues in the news media.

Footnote:
Case is on the rise.
We are one of the only law schools in the country to have experienced any rise in median LSATs last year, and ours rose a whopping 2 points. Our university, ranked #37th by U.S. News & World Report, is attracting record numbers of applicants.
