Bernard S Sharfman
Visiting Assistant Professor of Law
Bernard S. Sharfman comes to Case Western Reserve University School of Law after several years of adjunct teaching in both business and law schools. Mr. Sharfman has taught corporate finance at The George Washington University School of Law, business law at The George Washington University School of Business, commercial law at the George Mason University School of Management and in the fall of 2012 will be teaching business associations to international LL.M. students at American University’s Washington College of Law. In the spring of 2012, Mr. Sharfman was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Journal of Corporation Law’s spring banquet. The speech will be published in volume 37, issue 4 of the Journal of Corporation Law.
Mr. Sharfman’s research focuses on corporate law and governance. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Corporation Law (2), the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law (2), the Virginia Law & Business Review, The Business Lawyer, the Northwestern University Law Review Colloquy (2), Securities Regulation Law Journal and the Corporate Governance Advisor (2).
Mr. Sharfman was formerly of counsel with Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll PLLC. Mr. Sharfman is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 2000) where he was an Executive Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and the recipient of the journal’s Saint Thomas More Award. Before going to law school Mr. Sharfman spent many years in the government agency sector, first at the Office of Finance, Federal Home Loan Banks and then at Fannie Mae.
