Tim Webster works at the intersections of comparative and international law, mostly in East Asia. He writes about human rights, trade, and the status of international law in domestic courts, most recently in the Columbia, Michigan, Penn and Vanderbilt international law journals. He has presented in Mandarin, Japanese and English to audiences in a dozen jurisdictions on four continents.
He began his academic career as a lecturer at Yale Law School, and senior fellow at its China Law Center, designing and implementing legal reform projects with government officials, public interest lawyers, academics and judges in the PRC. He has taught at Yale, Cornell, National Taiwan University, and Berkeley; and been a visiting scholar at Zhejiang University. Professor Webster clerked for Judge Joseph L. Tauro in Boston, and practiced transnational litigation in Tokyo and New York.
Professor Webster recently received a Taiwan Fellowship from the Republic of China. He will research the judicial implementation of international human rights at National Taiwan University in Summer 2013.

Footnote:
Case is on the rise.
We are one of the only law schools in the country to have experienced any rise in median LSATs last year, and ours rose a whopping 2 points. Our university, ranked #37th by U.S. News & World Report, is attracting record numbers of applicants.
