govinfo (https://www.govinfo.gov) was released in beta last month. It will replace the Federal Digital System (FDsys). In addition to providing public access to federal government information, the new site will include content management controls and will be a standards-compliant preservation repository.

Students and others who have not had to dive into legislative materials other than finding United States Code sections, may find themselves trying to locate the House Report, Senate Report, or Joint Conference report, or other key documents related to specific legislation. The reason is usually an attempt to determine legislative intent of particular language of the act. There are many ways to locate legislative history information.
