Professor Paul Giannelli
The fifth edition of Scientific Evidence, a book co-authored by Professor Paul Giannelli, was published in January 2013. Giannelli, who wrote the textbook with University of California at Davis Professor Ed Imwinkelried, University of California at Berkeley Professor Andrea Roth, and Duquesne University Professor Jane Moriarty, is considered one of the nation's foremost experts in the field of evidence and criminal procedure, especially on the topic of scientific evidence. In its previous editions, the book was cited by the National Academy of Sciences in a 2009 report on the country's forensic science system as the resource for learning about the latest forensic techniques and scientific concepts used in collecting and evaluating evidence, as well as, by the U.S. Supreme Court in Daubert v. Merrell Dow and, most recently, Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts. This semester, Professor Giannelli is teaching the Wrongful Convictions Seminar, and Evidence.
We congratulate Professor Giannelli on this achievement
