Starting on Monday, July 9, we welcomed 57 LL.M. students from eight countries: China, Korea, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Turkey, Thailand, United Arab Emirates to the Summer Language and Law Institute. The Summer Language and Law Institute is a four-week academic program taught by Professor Jack Turner, which introduces students to the practice and study of law in the U.S., provides a practical introduction to U.S. legal research and analysis, and improves students’ English language skills through an integrated English for Legal Purposes program.

States Zhen "Leo" Zhou, a student in the program, "During the summer program, we learned the professional knowledge (e.g. how to brief a case, how to use the legal terminology, how to use the Westlaw and Lexis); we went to a Cleveland Indians game together and made friends with people from many different countries. Now we have made corresponding preparations to begin the LL.M. program. Thanks to the summer program, we are ready to start the LLM program."
