The School of Law welcomed tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students from the greater Cleveland area to the fourth annual Law and Leadership Summer Institute.

The School of Law welcomed tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students from the greater Cleveland area to the fourth annual Law and Leadership Summer Institute. The goal of the Law and Leadership Institute is to prepare youth from underserved communities to compete at high academic levels through the use of intense legal and educational programming as a tool for developing leadership skills and facilitating the pursuit of higher education. During the four week summer institute students heard from lawyers and judges, went on college tours, and had internships at Cleveland law firms. Over the long term, this program aims to improve the administration of justice in Ohio by encouraging students from all walks of life to consider a career at the bench or bar, thus improving the profession’s diversity and giving the citizen’s of Ohio the opportunity to be both judged and represented by their peers. Law and Leadership is a partnership between the Ohio State Bar Association, all nine law schools in Ohio, the Supreme Court of Ohio, and the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education with support from the Ohio State Bar Foundation and the Charles F. Kettering Foundation.
