First Amendment Moot Court team enjoys success at Nationals
The CWRU First Amendment Moot Court Team had a successful trip to the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition last week. The competition, sponsored by the First Amendment Center and Vanderbilt University Law school, hosted 34 teams from across the country. Our team of Steven Chang and Jacqueline Greene made it to the quarterfinal round and also took home the award for second best brief. This year's problem addressed whether school officials have the authority to punish off-campus, online student expression that officials deem vulgar, invasive of the rights of others, or potentially disruptive to the classroom.
The team appreciates all of the help that they received from professors, students, and alumni in preparing for the competition. In particular, they would like to thank Professors Adler, Bell, Benza, Carney, Durchslag, Entin, Hill, Jaffe, and Lipton for working with them and judging practice rounds.

Footnote:
Case is on the rise.
We are one of the only law schools in the country to have experienced any rise in median LSATs last year, and ours rose a whopping 2 points. Our university, ranked #37th by U.S. News & World Report, is attracting record numbers of applicants.
