School of Law team wins prestigious Dillard Award for top ten legal brief in Jessup Moot Court Compe
The CWRU School of Law Jessup Moot Court Team won the Dillard Award for having written one of the top ten briefs in the entire world in the 2010 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition. The CWRU School of Law team was the only U.S. team to win a Dillard Award this year. The Dillard Award is given after the world competition to the ten best briefs out of all the briefs that won Best Brief Awards in the regional rounds of the Jessup competition. School of Law teams have won a top ten brief in the Jessup world competition three of the past five years, and have won the overall best brief award at the Jessup regional competition the past four years in a row.
This year’s Jessup Moot Court Team was composed of Sarah Pierce, Brin Anderson, Katharine Quaglieri, Kate Gibson, and Cameron MacLeod. The team was coached by Margaux Day (J.D. '09) and Professor Michael Scharf. Established 51 years ago, and featuring over 500 law schools from across the globe, the Jessup is one of the oldest and most prestigious moot court competitions in the world. Case is on the rise.
We are one of the only law schools in the country to have experienced any rise in median LSATs last year, and ours rose a whopping 2 points. Our university, ranked #37th by U.S. News & World Report, is attracting record numbers of applicants.
