Prominent alumnus argues before U.S. Supreme Court
Alumnus Joseph Sellers '79 argued
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc v. Dukes
before the Supreme Court of the United States on March 29. Sellers argued on behalf of the plaintiffs. This case involves a class-action suit against Wal-mart for alleged discrimination against its female employees. The case presented many issues surrounding class-action suits and could have a significant impact.
This issue has received national attention. The oral argument before the Supreme Court was featured on C-SPAN and Sellers was recently quoted in Time magazine about this case and its implications on the future of class-action suits.
