School of Law welcomes esteemed alumnus David Dvorak to campus
President and Chief Executive Officer of Zimmer Holdings, David Dvorak, recently came back to the law school to engage with current students. He shared his professional experiences, tips for success and provided energy and inspiration to second and third year students in a Business Associations class. A 1991 graduate, Dvorak has had an illustrious career in the medical products field. Zimmer Holdings is a worldwide leader in the musculoskeletal health care industry.
"Case Western Reserve's commitment to preparing students for the challenges they will face throughout their careers was evident to me during my recent visit. The talent, diversity and energy of the faculty and students were impressive, and I enjoyed having an opportunity to share how my own experience at the Law School provided an invaluable foundation for my career. I am convinced that the Law School will continue its tradition of graduating independent thinkers who will go on to achieve their career aspirations and make significant contributions to society," said David.
David has been featured in Forbes magazine and other national business publications and has previously served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of STERIS Corporation. Early in his career he practiced at two major Ohio law firms with a focus on corporate law, securities and mergers and acquisitions.
"This engagement with students is one of the many ways our outstanding alumni enhance the academic environment and the law school experience for today's students," stated JT Garabrant, Associate Dean of Public Affairs and Development.
Ashley Lee, a third-year student, attended the lecture and thought it was a significant way to highlight the opportunities available to Case Western Reserve University School of Law students.
"Mr. Dvorak's presentation enhanced my classroom experience. To hear first-hand, how a CEO applies Business Association principles in his industry and have the opportunity to ask him questions regarding his current position and overall career path provided me with a holistic view of these legal principles and insight into the versatility of a law degree from Case Western Reserve," said Lee.
