Sharona Hoffman, Professor of Law and Bioethics and Co-Director of the Law-Medicine Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, is noted for her scholarship in the area of electronic medical records. She was recently quoted by the Huffington Post about the possibility that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will regulate health information systems. Safety concerns, including several reports of patient deaths and injuries linked to system malfunctions, have spurred the FDA to consider taking action.

Ambassador Marshall, a 1990 alumna from the School of Law, was named Chief of Protocol with the rank of Ambassador by President Barack Obama in early 2009. In her new job, the Cleveland native is in charge, among other duties, of all activities involving chiefs of state and their interactions with the White House.
