Professor Scharf was the lead author of a recently submitted Amicus Brief in the Supreme Court case of Kiyemba v. Obama, involving the issue of whether a Muslim Chinese Uighur held at Guantanamo Bay was entitled to release into the United States.

Richard Gordon, associate professor of law at Case Western Reserve University, leads a study of terrorism financing for the UN Counter-terrorism Implementation Task Force. His Op Ed questions the effectiveness of recent measures undertaken by the United Nations Security Council and the Financial Action Task Force.
