From 1984 until 1993, the buzz around the law school was about more than just professors and exams. For ten years, teams consisting of alumni, students, faculty and staff competed against each other in an annual "Phlegm Snopes Basketball Tournament." On March 9, 2013, the law school will host a Phlegm Snopes reunion to include basketball activities in Adelbert Gym and a social reception in the evening. The tournament, founded by three law school students and managed by The Commission, Professor Arthur Austin, gained immense notoriety during its ten-year run. One of the most memorable moments was when the tournament was played on the floor of the Richfield Coliseum, then home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.Over 500 students, alumni, faculty and staff participated in the tournaments and now the law school is inviting them all back for a Phlegm Snopes Basketball Tournament Reunion.SATURDAY, MARCH 9, 201310:00 am – 2:00 pm (basketball activities)Adelbert Gymnasium (2138 Adelbert Road)Cleveland, OH 441066:00 pm – 9:00 pm (reception)Champps American Restaurant5835 Landerbrook DriveLyndhurst, OH 44124Cost to attend:$15 (basketball activities)$40 (reception)*Credit card payment will be taken upon registration.
