Or, things you may not have known about Case Western Reserve University School of Law
10Case is on the rise. We are one of the only law schools in the country to have experienced any rise in median LSATs last year, and ours rose a whopping 2 points. Our university, ranked #37th by U.S. News & World Report, is attracting record numbers of applicants.
9Few other law schools have so many top-ranked specialty programs. The 2013 US News and World Report specialty rankings affirm our status as having one of the best Health Law Programs (#5) and International Law Programs (#13 — tied with Stanford) in the country.
8Our students have received international honors. Our international war crimes research program was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for our students' work on the trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor, and our Jessup International Law Moot Court team was the last American team to win the World Championship.
7We lead the nation in study-abroad and work-abroad opportunities. You can spend a semester in one of our almost thirty semester-long study-abroad programs, including new programs with the top ten law schools in China. Or you could spend a semester interning, for credit, at international courts and NGOs across the globe. Our multi-million dollar endowed Cox Center provides funding to help pay your travel and living expenses.
6Our students get a chance to make a difference. Students in our Law Clinic recently won a $1.1 million dollar jury verdict for their pro bono clients. We now have enough placements in our four Clinics, Immigration Practicum, and semester-long externships for every student who wants one.
5We have a faculty of leading scholars. A 2012 study ranked our faculty's scholarship #37th most cited in the nation.
4We are located on a picturesque university campus in University Circle – the cultural hub of Cleveland. The law school is just a short stroll from Severance Hall (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, the Cleveland Natural History Museum, and the Barking Spider pub - the site of weekly faculty/student jam sessions.
